Mònica Botta, who holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona (UB), assumes the leadership of the CST. Her training includes a postgraduate degree in Hospital Management and a Master's in Health Economics and Healthcare Management from the Pompeu Fabra University, as well as a Master's in Hospital Management and Healthcare Services from the UB.
Botta has a long-standing career in healthcare management, having held positions such as Medical Director of the Hospital General de Granollers, Manager of the Barcelona Metropolitan South Health Region of CatSalut, and Territorial Director of the Department of Health. She has also chaired the Cercle de Salut and served on the Governing Board of the College of Physicians of Barcelona.
Her experience also includes participation in the expert group for the National Health Pact aimed at improving the healthcare system. Previously, she worked as a project logistician in Bosnia, Kurdistan, and Rwanda with the NGO Acció Solidària, where she was responsible for the Health Area, and coordinated care services at Sanitas Residencial.
