Residents of Rubí and Sant Cugat del Vallès are expressing outrage over the filming of a movie in a forest area restricted due to African swine fever (ASF), demanding access.

The controversy arises from the news that Russell Crowe's new film, titled The Last Druid, will be shot in a forest area of the former Can Sant Joan golf course, owned by Incasòl. This area, located near Bellaterra, is within the zero zone of the African swine fever outbreak and has been closed to the public for over six months.
Residents like Diana Morente and Amèlia López question the double standard: "If they can open this forest for a movie, why can't they open it for us?", they lament, urging the government to allow access to forests and streams.

"Si obren aquest bosc per fer una pel·lícula per què no el poden obrir per a nosaltres?"

The filming, scheduled for June, has already begun with the installation of sets, including a Celtic village, and equipment for the technical and artistic crew. Rural Agents have detected irregularities in the perimeter security fencing, leading the Department of Agriculture to issue a legal notice to halt the filming until current biosecurity regulations are met.
The Sant Cugat City Council, while approving the filming, has sent a letter to counselor Ordeig requesting a relaxation of restrictions for citizens, arguing that if economic activity is permitted in the infected zone, access to parks and delimited forest areas should also be allowed. Mayor Josep Maria Vallès acknowledges the difficulty in providing answers about the duration of the restrictions.
The film The Last Druid, directed by William Eubank and produced by Nostromo, will feature actors such as Rose Leslie and Daniel Zovatto. Russell Crowe will play a Celtic elder defending his family and village.
