This Tuesday, nearly 200 wines that had passed the preliminary stage were blind-tasted by five tasting panels, including oenologists and sommeliers. The session, which lasted approximately four hours, focused on evaluating the anonymous bottles vying for the Vinari Awards 2026 medals.
The mayor, Ana María Martínez Martínez, highlighted Rubí's strong historical connection to the world of wine, recalling that vineyards and wine were fundamental for many generations of citizens. She emphasized that the Celler, originally a cooperative winery, now functions as a cultural facility and keeps the link with wine alive, hosting events like the final tasting and the upcoming Fira del Vi (Wine Fair).
Martínez added that the fourteen-year relationship between Rubí and the Vinari Awards demonstrates that "wine is a network," emphasizing collaboration and complicity between both parties.
Following the tasting, a networking dinner was held in the Tines hall of the Celler, attended by tasters, representatives from the wine sector, specialized journalists, and municipal authorities.
The final results of the tasting will be announced on October 2nd, during the Vinari Awards ceremony, which will take place at the Auditori de Vilafranca del Penedès.
