European Mobility Week brought various activities to the city, primarily concentrated in Doctor Robert Square and Racó del Campanar. The proposals were designed for both children and adults, aiming to encourage the use of more sustainable transportation.
One of the most notable initiatives was the training on safe urban cycling provided by David Estop from La Sàrria. This methodology, applied in real traffic conditions, aims to teach urban cyclists how to navigate safely. The learning process is divided into levels, from mastering basic pedaling techniques to performing complex maneuvers and making independent decisions in traffic.
Estop emphasizes that the training goes beyond just learning to ride a bike, focusing on the importance of adapting travel to the city's characteristics and making conscious decisions regarding the environment.
The event also featured participation from TUS (Sabadell Urban Transport), represented by its communications manager, Susanna Romero. Activities for children, workshops, and bicycle-related proposals were offered, along with the opportunity for attendees to get up close with an exhibited electric bus. Romero highlighted the public's anticipation for this week, which annually brings sustainable transport alternatives to residents.
Other activities included bicycle skill circuits, repair workshops, a bicycle registration point, and various family-friendly events, reinforcing the message of promoting safer and more environmentally friendly mobility in Sabadell.
