The local giants, Joan and Marieta, along with Monjo and Amfisbena, hosted a festive day that filled the Avinguda de Cerdanyola on Saturday, June 27. The event saw the presence of nine giant groups from across Catalonia.
The invited groups for the traditional parade and joint dance included the Geganters of La Llàntia from Mataró, Geganters of Santa Eulàlia de Ronçana, Gegants of Puigcerdà, Gegants of Sant Jaume de Barcelona, Geganters of Valldoreix, Gegants of Rubí, Gegants of Falset, and the Gegant Inquiet de Catalònia Fundació Creactiva, which debuted the previous year.
The parade wound through the town center streets to the Plaça d'Octavià, where a joint dance took place. This year, the gathering featured a special performance by the Sbandieratori Borgo San Lorenzo, from Alba, a town twinned with Sant Cugat. These flag-throwers presented an acrobatic display with their flags, breaking the tradition of the host giants closing the parade and instead yielding this honor to the Italian guests.
