The night of Sant Joan was busy for emergency services in Catalonia, with more than 1,600 calls to the 112 emergency number. Of these, 463 were handled from Sabadell, making it the fourth city with the highest call volume, following Barcelona (2,113), L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (781), and Terrassa (467).
Firefighters responded to over 1,400 alerts throughout Catalonia. The majority of these services focused on small fires involving vegetation, bins, and street furniture, as well as preventive actions related to the use of pyrotechnics and bonfires. Isolated incidents concerning mobility were also managed.
The Vallès Occidental region accounted for a significant portion of the alerts to firefighters, with 283 services. These included 121 vegetation fires, 136 other types of fires (bins, vehicles, homes), and 25 various assistance calls. In the city of Sabadell, despite the number of calls to 112, no major incidents were reported, pending the municipal report.
Overall, the 112 emergency line received a total of 10,131 calls, leading to 5,113 incidents. The province of Barcelona accounted for 74.33% of the calls.
