The city of Terrassa has activated six new water misters in public spaces to combat the high temperatures forecast for this Sunday's heatwave.

With temperatures expected to exceed thirty degrees, and nights predicted to be "tropical," the Terrassa City Council has implemented new measures to mitigate the effects of the heat. In addition to climate shelters and an earlier start to the swimming pool season, six misters have been installed this year in key city locations.
Three of these fountains have been operational since Friday in Primer de Maig, Plaça Nova, and Frederico García Lorca squares. The remaining three, located at Torrent de les Bruixes, the children's area of Parc de Sant Jordi, and Plaça del Progrés, will be activated soon.
The misting systems will operate during morning (11 AM to 2 PM) and afternoon (4 PM to 7 PM) hours, considered peak heat and high public attendance times. The City Council has stated that these schedules may be adjusted based on weather conditions and equipment performance.
The primary goal of this initiative is to enhance public comfort in urban spaces, particularly as the school and summer holiday season begins, a time when many citizens take the opportunity to stroll through the city.
