In observance of World Multiple Sclerosis Day, celebrated on May 30th, the Terrassa Multiple Sclerosis association (TEM) has organized a celebration and awareness event for Friday, May 29th, in Terrassa's Plaça Vella. The event, titled ‘Circ de la Vida’ (Circus of Life), will feature the circus as its central theme, offering a program of shows designed for the whole family.
The event will include performances by Mondo Momo, specialists in family entertainment, and Albert Vinyes Pallasso de Proximitat, an artist recognized for his work in street theater and clowning. These artists will be responsible for opening and closing the event. Additionally, a solidarity snack will be offered thanks to the collaboration of Orxateria Ribera, and a manifesto on Multiple Sclerosis will be read with the support of the Castellers de Terrassa.
TEM highlights the importance of "synergy and collaboration" in the creation of the association, founded a year ago. The association aims to "continue growing and become a benchmark in the city for supporting people with MS," emphasizing that World Multiple Sclerosis Day is the ideal moment to "raise visibility for the disease".
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurodegenerative disease of the central nervous system, the leading cause of disability in young adults after traffic accidents. It affects myelin, the protective layer of nerve fibers, causing symptoms such as loss of mobility, fatigue, or cognitive and visual difficulties. Although there is no cure, adequate treatments and support improve patients' quality of life.
