The city of Terrassa is preparing for its Festival Major, taking place from July 3rd to 8th, with a program featuring 346 activities and 95 musical performances.

With less than a month to go until the start of the Terrassa Festival Major, celebrated from July 3rd to 8th, the city is gearing up for its most important annual festivity. On Friday, June 12th, the mayor of Terrassa, Jordi Ballart, presented the program of activities at the Espai Vela in Parc de Vallparadís.
The mayor emphasized the festival's importance as the "city's great celebration, a space for meeting, coexistence, and pride," reflecting the associative fabric and the capacity to create inclusive moments for everyone.
The program will feature 346 activities spread across 18 main venues. Popular culture, with events like the Baixada del Drac (Dragon Parade), the unveiling of the Capgròs de l'Any (Figure of the Year), parades, human towers, and popular dances, will remain the central theme.
This edition will implement the new Festival Major Protocols, developed by cultural entities, to ensure the festival continues as a living and shared heritage.
The total budget for the Festival Major amounts to 1,046,665.29 euros, with 881,384.29 euros from the municipality and 165,281 euros from collaborators.
Regarding music, there will be 95 performances by artists such as Macaco, els Catarres, The Tyets, Els Amics de les Arts, Suu, and Gemma Humet. The City Council also supports local talent.
One of the new features is the inclusion of the La Taifa space, promoted by about twenty entities, aiming to be a meeting point for the public and the associative network, offering workshops, popular meals, music, and dance.
