The collective calls for a reduction in rent prices, a minimum wage of 1,600 euros, and a reduction of the working day to 35 hours per week. This initiative is part of the general strike called for November 11th, which aims to focus on the deterioration of working-class living conditions and demand measures to guarantee access to decent housing, sufficient wages, and the defense of public services.
The manifesto denounces that, despite economic growth and record corporate profits, a significant portion of the population suffers from insufficient wages, precarious employment, and growing difficulties in accessing housing. It also warns of the progressive dismantling of public services, particularly in healthcare and education, due to underfunding and staff precarization.
Faced with this situation, the committee advocates for collective organization and mobilization as essential tools for achieving improvements. They recall recent mobilizations by the educational community, farmers, and housing rights movements as examples of the power of collective struggle.
Among the points they demand are a reduction in rent prices, a ban on evictions without alternatives, the expropriation of housing from banks and vulture funds, the construction of public housing, recognition of union rights, an increase in the minimum wage, a reduction in working hours, wage increases, and the defense of all public services.
The next assembly in Ripollet will take place on October 28th in Joan Abad square, at 7 PM.
