The inauguration of the exhibition, which celebrates the entity's history since its founding in 1966 as a section of the Centre Excursionista de Rubí (CER), brought together numerous people linked to the group and the city's cultural fabric. The Grup Fotogràfic El Gra became independent from the CER in 1980, consolidating its own identity and a commitment to making photography accessible to the public, with an artistic, social, and participatory dimension.
Over six decades, El Gra has been active in the cultural life of Rubí with initiatives such as the Foto Viva de Festa Major and the Gimcana Fotogràfica, and has contributed to preserving local memory with publications like Rubinencs del segle XX (2001) and Motius de Rubí (2008). It has also promoted training activities, photographic outings, and screenings to share knowledge and experiences.
Manel Miras Mas, president of the entity, thanked the opportunity to celebrate the anniversary and highlighted the group's strong roots in Rubí: "The entity's DNA is to collaborate with the city and its organizations," he stated, listing the multiple associations, institutions, and media that have benefited from El Gra's support.
Mayor Ana María Martínez Martínez emphasized the talent of the entity's members and their contribution to the city's cultural and social life, stressing the importance of generational succession: "El Gra must continue because it is a fundamental piece in our city," she declared. For his part, the councilor for the Municipal Museum Castell (MMUC), Jordi Arnaiz Moreno, wished for the group's continuity, noting that they "capture in images what happens very quickly in life but endures forever through an image."
The exhibition El Gra 60 can be visited at the Espai Expositiu Antiga Estació from Wednesday to Friday from 4 PM to 8 PM, and on Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM and from 4 PM to 8 PM.
