The initial phase of the project was extended longer than anticipated due to the need to incorporate technical and safety changes. These include the expansion of the gym area, the conversion of the exterior staircase into an interior one for energy efficiency, and the requirement to raise the building one meter higher to ensure adequate classroom ventilation. Furthermore, the heritage-protected warehouses that will be part of the educational complex must be respected.
Beyond the allocation for Terrassa, the Generalitat (Catalan Government) will invest nearly 200 million euros in educational facilities in the coming months, with 84 works and 111 projects already budgeted. The city of Sabadell is one of the most benefited, with an investment exceeding 12 million euros across various actions.
In Sabadell, the new construction works for the Institut 3/2 Narcisa Freixas i Cruells have already been tendered, with a budget of 9.2 million euros. The awarding of the expansion works for the Institut Escola Joan Sallarès i Pla (2.44 million euros) and the drafting of the project for the new Institut Arraona (540 thousand euros) are also anticipated.
