The celebration of the Tres Tombs, dedicated to Saint Anthony the Abbot, patron saint of animals, filled the streets of Cerdanyola del Vallès last Sunday, coinciding with the simultaneous start of the season in five Catalan cities. This popular culture festival will continue throughout the country until autumn, although some nearby events, such as the one in Sant Cugat del Vallès, had to be suspended due to rain warnings.
The Arriers i Arrieres de Cerdanyola association will have a prominent presence in many of these parades. Their vine stock float (carro de ceps), the load chosen for the 2026 season, will participate in various towns. In others, the entity will provide horses to pull floats belonging to other groups, always under the direct responsibility of the Cerdanyola muleteers, as explained by Montse Garriga, the association's spokesperson.
“"We participate with the Arriers' vine stock float, with 4 horses and also with a mounted horse carrying the flag of the Arriers i Arrieres de Cerdanyola, representing our city."
The participation schedule is extensive. During the first months of the year, Cerdanyola will be present at the Tres Tombs in Sabadell, Igualada, Barcelona, Rubí, Sant Joan Despí, La Roca del Vallès, Ripollet, Bigues i Riells, Sant Quirze del Vallès, and Anglesola. The season will culminate on May 10 in Constantí, with the National Tres Tombs Gathering, which will bring together more than seventy towns from across Catalonia.
