The municipality of Sant Quirze del Vallès is celebrating a new edition of the Month of Solidarity, under the slogan 'Peace is the way', until November 26th, with a program of activities to promote a culture of peace and the defense of human rights.

The program includes the presentation of the Escola de la Pau (School of Peace), a municipal project with nearly three decades of commitment to solidarity, and a collection campaign for warm clothing and winter supplies for homeless people, organized by Ateneu del Món.
Activities begin tomorrow with the talk “Palestine: Gender Violence and Impacts in Times of Genocide”, by researcher Pamela Urrutia, at 7 PM at La Patronal.
The Biblioteca Marcel Ayats is hosting the exhibition «When Women Win, Everyone Wins» until November 26th, organized by Ateneu del Món, featuring testimonies from elite athletes about inequalities. Additionally, La Patronal is hosting the photographic exhibition «Palestine, on the Edge of Hope».
On November 6th, the Sala Josep Brossa at La Patronal will screen “The Story of Souleymane”, a film about the difficulties faced by a young migrant in France. The Espai Minvant cineforum on November 26th will address the situation of Palestinian civil society organizations.
The official presentation of the Escola de la Pau will take place on November 17th at La Patronal, featuring a round table discussion highlighting the municipality's long-standing commitment to solidarity and human rights. This project aims to foster reflection, dialogue, and tools for peaceful conflict resolution.
The collection campaign for warm clothing and winter supplies for homeless people, organized by Ateneu del Món, will run from November 3rd to 24th. Items needed include men's jackets, tracksuits, socks, sneakers, blankets, sleeping bags, and tents. Donations can be dropped off at the premises on Carrer d'Egara, 13.
Several collection points are available at local schools, libraries, and other municipal facilities. Proceeds will go to the organization Colors del Món, and unsold items will be resold on December 12th to benefit La Marató de TV3.
