In commemoration of November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the institution has prepared a program of over twenty events running through November and December. These activities include workshops, talks, theater, exhibitions, and film forums to encourage citizens to identify machista violence and promote equality.
Among the highlighted activities are a socio-educational theater workshop for children, the workshop “Let's Name Ageism”, an artistic body mapping proposal, and the monologue No solo duelen los golpes by Pamela Palenciano. A feminist collage and a photographic route from Canya Jove will also be held to reflect on daily inequalities.
The program also features the talk “Prizes, Punishments, and Consequences”, led by Carlos González, a pediatrician and author, taking place on December 1st at the Sala Josep Brossa de la Patronal.
The central event on November 25th will be held at the Plaça de la Vila at 12 PM, with a manifesto reading by students from the Municipal Adult Education Center L'Olivera and a joint performance by Veu de Dones and the Sant Quirze del Vallès School of Music and Arts. New purple mailboxes for reporting violence will also be presented.
Regarding exhibitions, the Biblioteca Marcel Ayats will host Dones i esport: Quan les dones guanyen, hi guanya tothom (Women and Sport: When Women Win, Everyone Wins). At Canya Jove, the exhibition Red flags o green flags? prompts reflection on relationship dynamics, and in December, Yolanda Domínguez's exhibition Habitar el meu cos (Inhabiting My Body) will address aesthetic violence.
The program is rounded out with prenatal and postpartum yoga sessions, the en família (family time) space led by a doula, and family music sessions. Full details are available in the related PDF and the municipal agenda.
