The Senior Week, organized by the Santa Perpètua de Mogoda City Council, has had its start postponed due to the forecast of intense rain. The guided tour of the Senior Center building, the farmhouses on Rambla, and the church, which was to kick off the celebration, has been cancelled and registered participants have been notified.
Despite this setback, the program continues tomorrow, Wednesday, with a guided tour of the exhibition Ordint Revolucions by Iris Garcia Serra, at the La Granja Exhibition Hall. Two sessions have been scheduled, at 10 am and 11:30 am, to learn about the work of the Perpetuenca creator.
On Thursday, October 1st, coinciding with the International Day of Older Persons, the MTIV proposes a guided itinerary through the Les cases de la Florida neighborhood. This three-kilometer activity, starting at 10 am from La Florida station, will allow participants to discover the history and evolution of this urban area.
The Councilor for Senior Affairs, Ana Bajo, highlighted that the week "offers us the opportunity to value this stage of life and advocate for active, participatory, and energetic aging." She emphasized that the designed activities have "good demand".
The central event of the Senior Week will finally take place this Friday starting at 6 pm at the Porxada dels Drets Humans. The event will include a snack and dancing accompanied by the Grup Aura. Ana Bajo recalled that in the past, an homage was paid to the oldest person, but now the celebration recognizes all individuals over 65 years old.
