The regional waste tax in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda will see a 26% reduction for households and an 11% reduction for businesses in 2027, as announced by Mayor Joan Carles Mingueza and Environment Councillor Jésica Jiménez.

This reduction was approved by the Consell Comarcal del Vallès Occidental as part of the 2027 fiscal ordinances. Mayor Mingueza attributed these positive outcomes to the community's efforts in waste separation, particularly the decrease in residual waste, and encouraged maintaining this trend for future reductions.
Environment Councillor Jésica Jiménez highlighted that Santa Perpètua is one of the few municipalities achieving this reduction, confirming the effectiveness of the new waste management model both environmentally and economically. A household currently paying around 39 euros in regional tax will pay approximately 28 euros next year.
Since the full implementation of closed containers in June 2025, selective collection has increased from approximately 40% to 80%, while the generation of residual waste has significantly decreased. The goal is to further reduce residual waste and improve the correct separation of different fractions.
The 2027 tax will be the first calculated based on a full year of contributions, specifically from June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027. Optimal participation is defined as over 20 contributions for organic waste and between eight and twenty for residual waste during the established period.
