The Santa Perpètua de Mogoda City Council will allocate €400,000 to air conditioning public schools in the municipality, an investment announced by Mayor Joan Carles Mingueza.

The investment was announced at the Municipal Plenary session on Wednesday, September 30, in response to a question posed on behalf of the Parents' Associations (AFA) and educational centers. The plan of action will begin to be defined in the coming days, in collaboration with the educational community.
The representative of the AFA of Escola Santa Perpètua, Sara Carrascón, expressed concern about the high temperatures in classrooms, particularly following the Generalitat's Actualitza Clima program, which does not include any school from the municipality among its initial actions.
Mayor Mingueza highlighted the need to advance in air conditioning and assured that the measure would be implemented in consensus with the educational community. The budgetary allocation was already approved in the same plenary session.
The municipal government will continue to urge the Generalitat to include Santa Perpètua in the Actualitza Clima program, considering the measure "very necessary but arriving late and insufficient." Mingueza described the regional government's action plans as "unfair," arguing that they create a "first and second category" of children and teachers.
The City Council had previously approved a motion in October 2025 urging the Generalitat to establish a bioclimatization law for educational centers and investment plans. The council is also promoting the renaturalization of schoolyards, with actions already completed at La Florida and Santa Perpètua schools, and planned for Escola Bernat de Mogoda, in addition to installing pergolas in municipal nursery schools.
In March, a new motion was unanimously approved, explicitly requesting the Generalitat to implement an investment plan for air conditioning, emphasizing the tangible reality of climate change and its impact on school life.
