The FCH's decision to move its headquarters out of the Catalan capital has focused all attention on Terrassa, historically considered the cradle of this sport in Catalonia. After leaving Barcelona, several towns offered to host the new central office.
Currently, the contest is narrowed down to two major candidates: Terrassa and Sant Cugat del Vallès. Despite the competition, objective data reinforces the position of the Vallès co-capital, which defends its status as the hockey nerve center.
History and figures play in favor of Terrassa, which accumulates nearly 3,000 federated licenses, making it a strong argument for the Federation.
The four main clubs in Terrassa —Atlètic, Club Egara, CD Terrassa, and Línia 22— total 2,935 federated licenses. This sporting power, combined with the good rapport and predisposition of the Terrassa City Council, makes any other decision difficult for the local sector to comprehend.
