The most significant commitment focuses on security: the Generalitat will renovate the former courthouses on Rambla d’Ègara to transform them into a Citizen Service Office housing the Mossos d’Esquadra and the Municipal Police. The works, budgeted at 9 million euros, are scheduled to begin in mid-2028 and are expected to be completed in 2030.
The Mayor of Terrassa, Jordi Ballart, highlighted the symbolic value of the agreement, as the building had been closed and deteriorating for years, and will now gain a central police facility. The Minister of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau, linked the operation to strengthening operational coordination between forces.
Regarding housing, a working group was established to coordinate the use of 14 plots (10 municipal) that could allow the construction of nearly 600 homes, 312 of which would be designated for affordable rental. A monitoring group will also ensure compliance with the Terrassa Health Pact signed in 2023.
“"The B-40 is a necessity for the country, and its improvement is key to mobility and competitiveness."
In terms of infrastructure, Dalmau defended the progress of the B-40 (the connection between Terrassa and Sabadell) as a fundamental component. The Government has indicated that tenders and studies have already been activated. Furthermore, the path was opened for the transfer of autonomous sports facilities, such as Can Palet–Can Jofresa.
