The Consortium for Linguistic Normalization (CNL) is expanding its Catalan welcome course offerings in Vallès Occidental South for the 2026-2027 academic year, with ten entities participating and a total of 17 courses.

A new grant from the Generalitat de Catalunya has enabled the organization of Catalan courses for adults in various local entities. The Associació Cultural Les Feixes, Casal Popular la Flama, Centre d'Esplai La Gresca, and Ateneu Santcugatenc continue the initiative, while the EMD of Valldoreix and Fundación OCA are joining for the first time.
This new grant line, initiated in 2025, now allows for the organization of welcome courses in Decentralized Municipal Entities such as Valldoreix and Bellaterra, religious entities, professional colleges, municipalities with fewer than 17,500 inhabitants, and non-profit organizations.
The courses will be distributed among the municipalities of Sant Cugat del Vallès, Ripollet, and Cerdanyola del Vallès, complementing the offerings of local Catalan services. Currently, new proposals are being developed in Montcada i Reixac and Barberà del Vallès.
The call for grants for the 2026-2027 academic year has its application deadline open until October 29, 2026. In 2025, this initiative facilitated the delivery of 350 free A1 and A2 level Catalan courses throughout Catalonia.
The CNL Vallès Occidental Sud provides organizational advice, support with teaching materials, dissemination, and course monitoring. The grant covers expenses for materials and teaching staff, aiming to meet demand and promote the social use of the language among newcomers.
