The main festival in Caldes de Montbui lived up to its motto, "Que no s’acabi la festa!" (May the party never end!), with large crowds filling various town spaces over the weekend. The celebration, which began on Thursday with the initial firecracker, offered around twenty concerts, theatre and dance performances, sardana and Country dance gatherings, parades, correfocs (fire runs), and versots (poetry slams), for both adults and children.
Concerts were a major highlight, notably the performance by Els Catarres on Sunday night, which packed the tent in Can Rius park. In addition to music, the festival featured exhibitions at the Museu Delger and the Museu Thermalia, showcasing works from the Art Workshop and historical festival posters.
The sports sector also played a role with the 15th Urban Mile and the Children's Olympics. The traditional Castellers' Day, celebrating the local group's 30th anniversary this year, filled the plaça de la Font del Lleó.
The festivities continue next weekend with the Capvuitada, which will include the Aplec del Remei, artisan and association stalls, a cart parade, and a popular culture parade. The Oktoberfest, organized by the youth association Aimava, returns for its fourth edition on Friday, October 16th, at Can Rius park. A new addition this year is the Baixada d’Andròmines (Homemade Contraption Descent), organized by the Caldes Castellers group, on Saturday, October 17th, at 3:30 PM.
The show “Nit, llums i pals” by the Bastioners will kick off the final stretch of the Capvuitada on Saturday evening, leading into the Aplec del Remei on Sunday. Together, these events will total nearly a hundred activities, fully embodying the festival's motto. During the Capvuitada, there will be fixed and mobile Safe Spaces (Punts Liles) on October 16th and 17th.
