The visit is part of an exchange program organized by the Barcelona Provincial Council, aimed at technical and elected officials from Ukrainian municipalities to strengthen their capacities. The delegation, comprising about ten people from three municipalities in the Vinnytsia region (Bar, Zhmerynka, and Mohylyv-Podilsky), began with a presentation of the municipality at the Sala de Les Cuines de Can Rius.
The 1st Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Europe and External Projection, Núria Carné, presented the trajectory and internationalization strategy of Caldes de Montbui. Subsequently, the Councilor for Youth, Meritxell Fabregat, and technician Verónica Arteaga, explained youth policies. The 2nd Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Business, Economic Promotion, Employment, and Agriculture, Roser Xalabarder, and technician Olga Peralta, detailed the local economic development strategy, focusing on valuing territorial assets.
The delegation also visited the Roman thermal baths, the Espai Juvenil El Toc youth center, and La Piqueta, to learn about other municipal initiatives up close.
The municipalities represented in the delegation are Bar (with approximately 15,000 inhabitants and a diversified economy), Zhmerynka (with about 33,754 inhabitants and significant importance in rail transport), and Mohyliv-Podilskyi (with around 29,000 inhabitants, combining industry and logistics near the border with Moldova).
