The maintenance and improvement tasks for forest fire protection strips are distributed throughout the year across half of the inhabited forest areas. These actions include clearing properties, municipal roads, and undeveloped verges, establishing an approximate biannual maintenance schedule for each neighborhood.
This year, the firebreaks at Font dels Enamorats, el Farell, and el Farell rústic have been treated. Clearing work has also been advanced in els Saulons, initially planned for 2027. For next year, priority is given to actions in Can Maspons, Lledoners, Regassol, Can Valls, and Torre Negrell.
The objective of these tasks is to reduce combustible vegetation, enhance the safety of inhabited areas, and facilitate firefighting efforts. The work primarily involves clearing undergrowth, pruning low branches, and selective tree felling.
Maintenance is planned periodically, with interventions every two years in each sector, following the Fire Prevention Plan (PPI) drafted in 2023 and current regulations. The plan also includes monitoring the condition of basic access roads, with actions undertaken in 2026 on routes such as the one from the C-1413 towards Sant Miquel de l’Am, Turó de la Torre Roja, and the Pascol quarries, as well as the road to Can Pascol and les Elíes, Torre Nova to Pla de Senosa.
This service is executed through two contracts: one with the Centre Especial de Treball de la Fundació Vallès Oriental and another through the tender for the fire prevention service. These actions are part of axis number 3 of the Municipal Action Plan 2023/2027 of the Caldes de Montbui City Council.
