The Vallès Oriental region concluded September with a slight decrease in unemployment, registering 17,712 jobless individuals. This reduction of 191 people compared to August represents a 1.07% drop, but marks a less intense trend than in previous September months.

According to the monthly advance report by the Observatori-Centre d’Estudis del Consell Comarcal, September 2026 ends three consecutive months of rising unemployment in the region. The current figure represents an interannual variation of only 5 fewer people than a year ago (-0.03%).
Traditionally, September usually brings a reduction in unemployment, particularly in the service sectors and due to the start of the school year. However, this year's decrease has been less pronounced than in the preceding two years, when declines exceeded 2.5%.
The provisional unemployment rate in the region now stands at 7.83%, 0.34 percentage points lower than in August (8.17%). At the Catalan level, September closed with 330,072 registered unemployed individuals, a slight increase of 0.2% compared to the previous month.
At the municipal level, unemployment decreased in 24 municipalities. Figaró-Montmany and Sant Feliu de Codines show no changes. In contrast, 12 municipalities have recorded an increase, notably Martorelles (+8.8%) and Vallgorguina (+7.41%).
The annual comparison shows a less homogeneous evolution, with only 14 municipalities reporting less unemployment than in September 2025. Montseny maintains the same figure, while 23 municipalities have seen their number of unemployed individuals rise.
