The Government of Catalonia has decreed new restrictions and limitations on activities and travel due to the emergency situation of the Special Plan for Flood Emergencies in Catalonia (INUNCAT). These measures apply to the municipalities of Vallès Oriental, such as Figaró-Montmany, from 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 3rd, until 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 4th. The decision was made in response to the flood risk associated with the intense rainfall predicted in various areas of Catalonia, aiming to minimize risks to the population.
The main restrictions include limiting non-essential travel, suspending activities in natural environments, parks, and urban gardens, as well as sports, cultural, leisure, and recreational activities. Markets, fairs, and other outdoor commercial activities are also suspended, along with any activity located in a flood-prone zone. Teleworking is recommended whenever possible, and educational, university, and research center activities, as well as basic and specialized social services, are suspended.
The Town Council of Figaró-Montmany calls on citizens to exercise extreme caution, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow the instructions of emergency and civil protection services at all times. It is reminded of the importance of not approaching streams, torrents, or flood-prone areas during heavy rain, and to avoid crossing areas with water accumulation. The restrictions are in effect according to Resolution ISP/3537/2026.
