The city of Mollet del Vallès is preparing to host the 11th edition of the Sona Mollet International Music Festival, a well-established event scheduled from September 30th to October 4th. The festival will feature a varied program including jazz, piano, symphonic, and chamber music, with participation from both emerging talents and renowned performers.
The opening day will include the initiative La Maria Canals Porta Cua, which will place a grand piano in Plaça Catalunya for public use. This event will conclude with a recital by pianist Guillem León. The program will continue with the Mollet Jazz Band, a formation from the Municipal School of Music and Dance, and a performance by the Paula Bilá Quintet, highlighted as an emerging act in the current jazz scene.
The festival weekend will feature significant performances. On Saturday, the Teatre de Can Gomà will host the concert by the Arts Simfònica Jove, an orchestra comprising over sixty young musicians from Catalonia, conducted by Josep Maria Sauret, with pianist Daria Piltyay as the guest soloist. On Sunday, the festival will conclude with Bon Voyage!, a show by the Orquestra Orthemis, blending music, theater, and humor.
The mayor of Mollet del Vallès, Mireia Dionisio Calé, emphasized the festival's establishment as a key cultural event, highlighting its combination of artistic excellence, promotion of emerging talent, and social commitment. The Councilor for Culture, Mercè Pérez Piedrafita, stressed that the program reflects the festival's essence, bringing together major ensembles, young talents, and activities open to all citizens.
Sona Mollet continues its commitment to solidarity. Proceeds from ticket sales for the concerts will be entirely donated to the Josep Carreras Foundation against leukemia.

The festival was established in 2016, initiated by the City Council of Mollet del Vallès, in memory of the young local pianist Anna Villaescusa Rebull.
