This regulation applies to activities carried out in forest land and within its influence area, defined as a 400-meter strip around these areas, according to current legislation. During this period, it is mandatory to previously notify the competent Administration of any activity.
Conversely, between March 15 and October 15, certain activities will require prior administrative authorization. However, activities focused on wildfire prevention and those for phytosanitary reasons will maintain their authorization regime throughout the year.
The management of authorizations falls under the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food. It is recommended to carry out procedures, especially responsible declarations for agricultural burns, through the 9PERFOC platform, which facilitates pre-loading of DUN plots and recovery of previous applications.
Burning agricultural and gardening waste is prohibited, except in micro and small agricultural holdings, and burning forest residues without the corresponding authorization is also forbidden.
As a new feature for the 2026-2027 season, the activity 'Burning of woody waste for wildfire prevention' is incorporated. This is aimed at eliminating pruning residues and other woody crops within the forest influence area. This activity, also open to non-professionals and independent of the DUN, will be subject to authorization year-round.
