Catalan Women's Cup arrives in Granollers and La Garriga

Two scoring events for various women's cycling categories will take place this weekend in the region.

The Vallès Oriental region becomes a stage for women's cycling this weekend with the celebration of the second edition of the Catalan Women's Cup in Granollers and the 12th Josep Segú Memorial in La Garriga.

The city of Granollers will host the second edition of the Catalan Women's Cup on Sunday, a competition organized by the Club Ciclista Granollers. This event will be a scoring race for the cadet, junior, U23, elite, and master categories of the Catalan calendar.
The circuit designed for the Granollers race will be 18.5 kilometers long, with a route towards Montmeló and Vilanova del Vallès. Cyclists will have to complete between three and four laps, depending on their category. The start is scheduled for 10 am from Avinguda del Parc.
Currently, the elite category standings of the Catalan Cup are led by Laura Gómez of Massi Baix Ter with 339 points, closely followed by Anna Ramírez of Jufré Cycling Team with 291 points. The Granollers event is the eighth stop on the Catalan calendar.
The day before, on Saturday, La Garriga will be the epicenter of another cycling day with the celebration of the 12th Josep Segú Memorial. Organized by AE Ciclisme La Garriga, this event will include races counting towards the Catalan Women's Cup, Catalan Junior Cup, and Catalan Cadet Cup. The competitions will take place in the afternoons on a 1.2-kilometer urban circuit.
