For the first time, the opening speech of the Festival in Montornès will include simultaneous sign language interpretation. This is one of the novelties for an event that, also for the first time, will take place on Thursday, September 17th, at 8:30 PM in Plaça de Pau Picasso, moving from the usual Town Hall location. The speech will be delivered by Miguel Santiago del Hoyo, a local resident and promoter of the old postcard project “Montornès Ciutat”.
Another notable inclusive initiative is the availability of noise-canceling headphones for individuals with auditory hypersensitivity. Over twenty program events, including concerts in the Zona de Concerts and pyrotechnic activities like the Cremada and correfocs, will be marked with a headphone pictogram. These devices can be requested until September 17th at the Casal de Cultura, via WhatsApp at 671 43 03 08, or by email.
Family activities such as Juguem a Pintor Mir (September 18th) and Moguda Panda (September 19th) will feature priority queues for children with functional diversity, accessible with corresponding identification wristbands. These wristbands can be collected until September 16th at the Centre and Nord citizen service offices, or through the DiverMON and ASPAHID organizations, upon presentation of a disability accreditation card, the CatSalut Cuida’m card, or a medical report.
In the Concert Zone at the CEM Les Vernedes parking lot, adapted spaces will be designated for people with reduced mobility, aiming to provide the best possible viewing experience of the shows.
The "silent" fair, a measure implemented over the last five years, will operate again from September 17th to 20th. Daily from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, the fair will run without loud noises or flashing lights, specifically catering to individuals with auditory hypersensitivity or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
