The Catalan Water Agency (ACA) has started emergency operations to remove vegetation and gravel accumulations in various river sections affected by the storm on the first weekend of October.

The works, carried out on an emergency basis, aim to remove vegetation and gravel accumulations that could obstruct water flow, particularly in priority areas of the counties of Barcelona, Tarragona, and Girona, where the floods have caused the most damage and the risk of flooding is highest.
Currently, work is focused on locations such as the Besòs river in Sant Adrià del Besòs, the Galera ravine in Masdenverge, the Vallromanes stream in Vilanova del Vallès, and the Riudaura river as it passes through Castell d'Aro.
Additionally, operations have begun in the municipality of Santa Fe del Penedès, with further work planned in Olèrdola and Sant Cugat Sesgarrigues, as well as in the Galera ravine in Mas de Barberans and Xerta.
The ACA plans to intensify these tasks in the coming weeks, with a global contract expected to commence for more extensive operations from late October onwards.
