The President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, today announced an initial extraordinary and urgent package of 75 million euros to address the damage caused by recent floods in Catalonia.

The head of the Executive chaired the monitoring meeting of the Inuncat plan at the CECAT hall, where he detailed that the package includes measures to accelerate the recovery of municipalities, businesses, and activities affected by the torrential rains of recent days. The fund mobilization is distributed as 20 million euros in direct subsidies to municipalities for repairing equipment and infrastructure, 5 million euros in aid for businesses, shops, and self-employed individuals, and 50 million euros through the ICF Emergències line to provide immediate liquidity.
The agreement also expedites emergency actions to repair damaged infrastructure through emergency processing. The ACA, Infraestructures de la Generalitat, and Forestal Catalana will be able to immediately activate necessary actions, financed by resources from the Contingency Fund. Furthermore, the Generalitat is working with the Spanish Government to declare the "seriously affected area" to receive further aid.
Protecció Civil maintains the INUNCAT plan in an emergency phase due to the intense rains today, particularly in the metropolitan area. The Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya forecasts new precipitation for Tuesday and Wednesday, with an expected improvement between Thursday and Friday. Today's episode has caused incidents in public transport (FGC, Metro, and Rodalies).
The emergency number 112 received 1,708 calls for 1,356 incidents by 6 PM, primarily concentrated in Barcelonès (705), Vallès Oriental (544), Maresme (136), and Vallès Occidental (132). The Bombers de la Generalitat (Firefighters of Catalonia) responded to 625 alerts, mostly in the Metropolitan North Region (473), and carried out about fifty rescue operations, many to extricate drivers trapped by water.
The Servei Català de Trànsit (Catalan Traffic Service) reports road closures on the C-1415c in La Roca del Vallès and the C-352 in Les Franqueses del Vallès and between Granollers and La Roca del Vallès. The SEM (Emergency Medical Service) attended 58 people today, transferring 12 without serious injury. Since September 30th, 399 affected individuals have been assisted.
The Cos d’Agents Rurals (Rural Agents Corps) conducted nearly 50 operations in rural areas and natural spaces, monitoring river flows and closing risky access points. Endesa reports that 10,259 customers are without power, mainly in the Barcelonès, Vallès Oriental, Vallès Occidental, Maresme, and Baix Llobregat regions.
