The fourth edition of the Licius Awards, promoted by the Lliçà d'Amunt City Council, will take place on Friday, November 6th, at 7:00 PM at the Ateneu l’Aliança. These awards recognize individuals, entities, or companies for their contributions to the social, scientific, economic, cultural, or artistic life of the municipality, as well as for their trajectory and civic commitment to Lliçà d'Amunt.
The ceremony, hosted by journalist Clara Armengol, will primarily be for the awardees, their families, and municipal representatives. The general public can follow the event live via streaming on the municipal Youtube channel (llam.cat/youtube).
In the relevant individual category, the award goes to Maria Puig, recognized for her long dedication to the municipality, both professionally and through volunteer work. She served as a cook at the Escola Bressol de l'Espurna, has collaborated with local entities like Lliçà Peruanitos, and organized the annual Christmas stew for the entire community, noted for her solidarity and generosity.
The award for entity is presented to Club Tennis Ca l’Artigues, with over 40 years of history in Lliçà d'Amunt. Founded by local residents, the club has expanded over the years with new facilities, maintaining a family-friendly and open spirit, serving as a meeting point for various generations.
The company Materials Massagué receives the award for its over 40-year trajectory in the Ca l’Estaper neighborhood. Initially a bar and grocery store, it has become a leading construction materials warehouse thanks to family effort, serving as a benchmark for renovations and construction for many local households.
Posthumously, the award is given to Joan Cladellas, known as “El Comandant”. An entrepreneur and businessman, he was deeply involved in the town, serving as president of the local football club and a key promoter of the 'ball de gitanes' dance, a role he held from 1992 until his death, noted for his leadership and ability to rally people around his projects.
