The municipality of Martorelles recorded a total of 235 unemployed individuals registered at the Employment Offices during September 2026. This figure represents a slight increase of 19 people compared to August, when the unemployment rate stood at 8.80%. However, it signifies a decrease of 10 people (-4.08%) compared to September 2025, according to calculations by the Observatory-Study Center of the Vallès Oriental Regional Council.
At the regional level, Vallès Oriental closed September 2026 with 17,712 people unemployed. This marks a monthly decrease of 1.07%, equivalent to 191 fewer people than the previous month. This data ends three consecutive months of rising unemployment in the region, following the increase recorded in August.
Traditionally, September usually brings a reduction in unemployment, particularly in sectors related to services and the start of the school year. However, the decrease recorded this year is less pronounced than in the previous two years, as both September 2024 and 2025 saw decreases of over 2.5% compared to the preceding month. Compared to September 2025, the situation remains practically stable, with only 5 fewer people unemployed in the region (-0.03% year-on-year).
The provisional unemployment rate in the region stands at 7.83%, 0.34 percentage points lower than the 8.17% recorded in August. Unemployment figures are moderating again after the seasonal upturn in July and August, although the trend is more moderate than in previous years.
