The Lledoner de Can Puig, an emblematic landmark in Martorelles, will be illuminated in different colors throughout October to support three international awareness initiatives. These actions aim to raise visibility and public consciousness regarding meningitis, dyslexia, and perinatal, gestational, and neonatal loss.
On October 5th, the Lledoner will turn green to mark World Meningitis Day. This initiative seeks to highlight the disease, remember affected individuals and their families, and raise awareness about its potential complications and lasting effects.
Three days later, on October 8th, the color turquoise will illuminate the tree for International Dyslexia Day. Martorelles thus joins the campaign «United for Dyslexia», promoting understanding and inclusion for individuals with this learning disorder.
Finally, on October 15th, the Lledoner will be lit up in pink for World Perinatal, Gestational, and Neonatal Loss Day. This act serves as a gesture of support and solidarity for families who have experienced the loss of a baby, acknowledging their grief and advocating for greater societal support.
Through these commemorations, Martorelles utilizes one of its most recognizable symbols for visibility, solidarity, and remembrance concerning various internationally significant causes.
