This year, residents of Montmeló can choose from five cooperation and solidarity projects working in different areas and countries. Voting will be open until November 8.
This initiative stems from the Consell de Poble, through the Cooperation and Solidarity sector, aiming to foster citizen participation. Five active proposals have been selected, focusing on areas such as health, support for women and girls, humanitarian action, environmental sustainability, and access to energy for health services.
Donations will go to the project with the most support among the five proposals: an initiative to improve access to health services in Senegal, addressing the basic needs of women and girls in Afghanistan, humanitarian aid for the crisis in Palestine and Lebanon, improving waste management in El Salvador, and strengthening the energy autonomy of health services in Cuba.
These development cooperation projects, supported by the Fons Català de Cooperació al Desenvolupament or its partners, combine long-term actions with emergency responses, contributing to strengthening basic services and promoting sustainable development.
The Fair of Solidarity and Cooperation will take place on November 28. Citizens can already participate in choosing the solidarity project through the voting form available on the city council's website.
