Nearly a hundred seniors enjoyed a gymnastics and sardana session this morning in Pau Picasso square in Montornès del Vallès, as part of the "October, Senior Month" program.

Pau Picasso square hosted this morning a day of dances and movement for the elderly, organized by the municipal Department of Senior Citizens within the "October, Senior Month" program, coinciding with the International Day of Older Persons.
The activity brought together nearly a hundred participants who followed the gymnastics and sardana sessions led by instructors Montse Marín and Encarna Gascón.
At the beginning of the gathering, Roser Pérez, representative of the Home Help Service (SAD), read the institutional declaration for the International Day of Older Persons. The session was initially scheduled for October 1st but was postponed due to rain forecasts.
The program will continue on October 24th with a theater afternoon by the group Entre Bambalinas from the Hermandad Nuestra Señora del Carmen and with a digital photography course held in senior centers until December 3rd.
Due to the floods on October 5th, the City Council is finalizing the relocation of some senior activities previously held in affected spaces, such as the CEM Les Vernedes pavilion. Starting next week, the gymnastics workshop will take place at the Centro Cultural Andaluz de Montornès, and the sardana sessions at Escola Can Parera. Gymnastics classes for people with reduced mobility will also be offered at Espai Cultural Montbarri.
