Car Passenger Dies in Collision with Truck on AP-7 in Sant Celoni

The 51-year-old victim, a resident of Igualada, was traveling northbound when the vehicle collided with a lorry in the Vallès Oriental region.

A 51-year-old woman, resident of Igualada, died Wednesday afternoon as a passenger in a car that collided with a truck on the AP-7 motorway in Sant Celoni.

The accident occurred around 3:47 p.m. at kilometer point 102.1 on the AP-7, within the municipality of Sant Celoni (Vallès Oriental), heading north. The victim was the front passenger of the car.
As a result of the collision, another woman sustained less serious injuries, and two other people were attended to at the scene. The incident forced the closure of two northbound lanes, causing significant traffic jams starting from Vallgorguina and affecting traffic throughout the area.
According to data from the Servei Català del Trànsit (Catalan Traffic Service), this victim brings the total number of fatalities on Catalan interurban roads since the beginning of the year to 139. 44% of these deaths correspond to vulnerable groups, including motorcyclists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
