The ordinary session of the Municipal Plenary of Sant Pere de Vilamajor, held on Thursday, September 24, in the Orila hall of La Rectoria, began with an excused absence from councillor Antoni Carbonell (ISP).
The incorporation of Montserrat Garcia Mayor as the new councillor for the Partit dels Socialistes de Catalunya-Candidatura de Progrés (PSC-CP) municipal group was formalized after receiving credentials from the Central Electoral Board. Subsequently, the minutes from the July 30, 2026 session were unanimously approved.
A management commission agreement with the Provincial Council of Barcelona was also unanimously approved. This agreement will allow the municipality, having surpassed 5,000 inhabitants, to manage part of its municipal staff payrolls with its own resources, while maintaining the Provincial Council's support.
The credit modification expediente no. 9-2026 was initially approved with favorable votes from the municipal government (3 PSC-CP, 3 Junts) and the abstention of the opposition (3 ERC, 1 ISP). The Councillor for Finance detailed that the budgetary modifications are intended for urgent actions before the approval of the 2027 budget.
Planned actions include the installation of photovoltaic panels in facilities such as the Torre Roja school, La Fàbrica, and the Faldes sports ground, with an approximate subsidy of 343,000 euros. Funds are also allocated for the new Language Policy Department and loan amortization.
In terms of green spaces, 25,000 euros have been allocated for improvements to public roads related to rainwater management on Jacint Verdaguer street. The budget for parks and gardens has also been increased, including tree planting in the Can Vila green area.
The modification also designates resources for municipal activities and facilities, such as popular festivals, cultural materials, and activities at the Civic Centre. Improvements are planned for La Fàbrica (lighting, sound system, LED screen, acoustic furniture) and the installation of large-format letters at the town's entrance.
During the control period, reports were given on mayoral decrees, Governing Board agreements, budget execution status, and payment periods. Issues addressed included the competencies of councillors regarding weddings during the interim period, improvements to sidewalks in the Can Derrocada neighborhood, and the use of the new mobile speed radar, aimed at raising awareness about speed limits.
A joint commission with Sant Antoni de Vilamajor was also discussed following an incident during a torch descent. In education, questions were raised about the nursery school, awaiting the Generalitat's new 0-3 model. Other topics covered a path in Can Miret, objections to the PLATER, and the Christmas Fair regulations, including fees for food trucks.
