The municipality of Santa Maria de Palautordera has successfully joined European Mobility Week by participating in the 2026 European Step Challenge. This continental initiative involved 972 municipalities and a total of 28,531 participants who, together, exceeded the symbolic figure of 1 billion steps walked.
In the overall ranking, Santa Maria de Palautordera secured the 349th position. Nationally, the municipality ranked 14th, while within Catalonia, it achieved 4th place, demonstrating a high level of citizen commitment to active mobility.
The City Council of Santa Maria de Palautordera has expressed its gratitude to all individuals who contributed to these positive outcomes. Participation in weekend activities, such as 'Car-Free Morning' and the 'Popular Cycling Event', which promoted more sustainable mobility habits among residents, was also acknowledged.
