The Directorate General of Civil Protection (DGPC) will conduct a sound test of the chemical risk sirens on Monday, October 19, at 10 AM, in Palau and Santa Maria de Palautordera.

The test aims to verify the audibility of the sirens and the effectiveness of the alert sent to mobile phones in the chemical risk zone. Part of the municipality of Palau is within the alert zone due to the La Tordera Chemical Sector, affecting Virgili, Temple, Ca l’Abril, Moixerigues, Pont Trencat, and Pont Romà.
During the drill, chemical risk warning sirens will sound, and a Civil Protection alert will be sent to mobile phones of citizens in the risk area.
Although the sound of the sirens located in Sant Celoni reaches Santa Maria de Palautordera with low intensity, residents of the town will receive a drill message on their mobile phones.
This exercise also aims to raise public awareness of this risk.
