The Sant Miquel Festival 2026 in Vallromanes will have a particularly commemorative and heritage-focused character, drawing inspiration from the original 1926 program to celebrate the centenary of that historic document. The graphic design, by local designer Vicenç Prims, pays tribute to the municipality's tradition.
As a major novelty, a festive competition between two citizen groups will be introduced: the Miquelets (red team) and the Vicentets (blue team). This initiative, channeled through the Festival Commission, aims to foster community cohesion through various challenges and activities. A representative from each group will deliver the opening speech.
The festival will kick off on Friday, September 18, with the 12th edition of the highly anticipated Survival Zombie Vallromanes, aimed at children and young people. The program includes traditional events such as the opening speech, 'botifarrada' (sausage feast), 'xocolatada' (hot chocolate), 'sopar de cabàs' (bring-your-own-dish dinner), dancing, youth night, a rural market, a solemn mass, the parade of the giants Vallis and Sai, the Sant Miquel Photography Award, a fashion show, a children's play park, and a family play area.
Music and theater will also feature prominently with gospel concerts by G de Gòspel and En Clau de Gòspel, a concert by the Coral de Vallromanes, and a performance by Marta Shanti. Various shows including theater, circus, and dance will be presented, featuring local company Cia. Sweet Boom with their play "Por los siglos de los siglos".
Sport will play a significant role with competitions in chess, pétanque, the 3x3 basketball tournament, table tennis, and an obstacle race. The festival's closing event will include special lighting effects to commemorate the 100th anniversary of electric lighting in Vallromanes, followed by a closing 'batucada' (percussion ensemble).
The Town Council expresses its gratitude to the local entities and volunteers who contribute their time and effort to the organization.
