The Vilanova del Vallès City Council has established a plan of priority actions to restore the safety of municipal infrastructure affected by the floods of October 4th. The works will begin this Monday, October 19th, with two work teams.

The actions focus on points with risks to homes, accessibility issues, and impacts on basic services and the road network. Structural interventions to reduce the risk of future floods have also been identified.
Following a coordination meeting on October 9th with the Generalitat de Catalunya, Protecció Civil, the ICGC, the ACA, and Bombers, the Directorate General of Infrastructure committed to prioritizing actions in the municipality. The ACA will act on the affected streams, including clearing the bridge of the Ardenya stream. Municipal Technical Services have compiled a list of critical points on the road network to be addressed by the Directorate General of Infrastructure.
Priority points include the protection of homes and access routes on Carrer de la Farigola, Carrer de Céllecs, Carrer de Gardènia, Carrer de Freixas, Carrer de Vallromanes, the Pont de Can Congostell, and the Camí de Cal Cucut. Basic services will also be restored, such as the main water pipe to Bosc Ruscalleda and Les Roquetes, and wastewater pumping stations will be replaced.
The road network will also require repairs on the bridge over the Ardenya stream, on the Camí de Vilassar, on the Carretera de Can Bosc, on the Carrer del Montseny, and on the Camí de Cal Sereno. Additionally, structural interventions have been identified to improve hydraulic response, including widening the bridge over the Mogent River on the BP-5002, protecting critical points on the Ardenya stream, acting on the headwaters of the Sorral torrent, and improving the hydraulic design of the roundabout at the pavilion on the BP-5002.
Starting this Monday, work will focus on stabilizing the slopes of the Ardenya stream on the Camí de Vilassar and the Carretera de Can Bosc. The City Council will keep citizens informed about the progress of the works, which may cause occasional mobility disruptions.
