The city of Valls is gearing up for the Sant Joan celebration with a cultural agenda featuring five key events this weekend, offering diverse activities for all audiences.

With the Sant Joan festival approaching, Valls' cultural calendar is brimming with pre-festival events designed to appeal to everyone. From human tower performances to musical shows, the city invites residents and visitors to make the most of their free time with a variety of offerings.
A highlight will be the 'Diada castellera' (human tower gathering) organized by the Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls as part of their 44th anniversary. The event will feature guest groups such as Castellers de Barcelona, Castellers de Sants, Minyons de Terrassa, and Moxiganguers d’Igualada. This 'diada', taking place at Plaça del Pati on Saturday, May 13th, at 5:30 PM, will conclude with a communal dinner and a concert.
The tradition of 'gegants' (giants) will also be celebrated with the 26th Trobada de Gegants de Valls. This event includes the 'plantada' (display) of the giants at Portal Nou (Saturday, June 13th, 6 PM), followed by a parade ('cercavila') from Portal Nou to Plaça del Blat (7 PM). The gathering will feature various giant figures from the region.
For theater enthusiasts, the Centre Cultural will host the show Bona gent starring Quim Masferrer on Saturday, June 13th, at 8 PM. The performance is described as a tribute to the audience, making attendees the stars of the show.
The 'casteller' culture takes center stage again with the Proclamation of the Ambaixadors dels Xiquets de Valls and the draw for the performance order of the Sant Joan 'Diada'. This ceremony, held at Plaça Pere Català Roca on Sunday, June 14th, at 12 PM, will honor the efforts of La Xarxa and TAC 12 in promoting the 'casteller' tradition. A special silver coin will be used for this year's draw.
Finally, on Sunday, June 14th, at 6 PM, the Centre Cultural will present the Abbey Road Show, a tribute to The Beatles widely regarded as one of the best worldwide. The performance promises a musical journey back to the sixties, remarkably faithful to the original voices, sound, and aesthetic of the Liverpool band.
