Once again, Rubí has become a focal point for the Catalan wine scene by hosting the final tasting of the Vinari Awards. This Tuesday, nearly 200 wines that passed the preliminary selection in June were blind-evaluated by five panels of professional tasters, including oenologists and sommeliers.
For approximately four hours, the jury assessed the anonymous bottles competing for medals in the 2026 Vinari Awards. The mayor, Ana María Martínez Martínez, highlighted Rubí's strong historical connection to viticulture and wine production, recalling the Celler's origins as a cooperative born from collective effort.
"This Winery was born as a cooperative winery from the shared effort of many people. Today it is a cultural facility and a venue for the Vinari Awards, and soon it will once again be the setting for the Wine Fair. For fourteen years, Rubí and the Vinari Awards have shared this path," stated the mayor.
Following the tasting, a standing reception dinner was held in the Tines hall of the Celler, attended by tasters, industry representatives, specialized journalists, and municipal officials.
The final results of the tasting will be announced on October 2nd, during the Vinari Awards gala ceremony, which will take place at the Auditori in Vilafranca del Penedès.
