Firefighters declared the fire in Aiguamúrcia controlled on Tuesday afternoon, affecting 154 hectares, primarily forest land in Querol and Pontons.

The fire, which had been stabilized since Monday evening, reached the control phase a few hours later than expected. The objective was achieved thanks to overnight efforts to douse the affected area, involving 17 vehicles and 80 firefighters.
The burned hectares are distributed among the municipalities of Querol (56.84%), Aiguamúrcia (16.69%), both towns in Alt Camp, and Pontons (26.47%), in Alt Penedès.
Rural Agents and Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating the causes of the fire and are considering various hypotheses, including the possibility of arson.
