The Jordi Savall Festival has arrived today, Friday August 14, in Valls to conclude its sixth edition. The Espai Gerhard was filled with audiences of all ages to enjoy "Dones eclipsades", a musical story that narrates the history of important women through music and tales.
This event is part of the festival's program which, since Monday, has visited various locations such as Montblanc, Santes Creus, and Alcover, offering concerts of baroque music, traditional Hungarian music, works by Händel, Purcell, Bach, and shows like "Dones d’Orient".
In the afternoon, in Valls, the concert "Concert per a orgue a quatre mans" will take place, a tribute to Montserrat Torrent. In parallel, Santes Creus will feature "Lumen Tenebrae", a repertoire of vocal polyphony.
The weekend will close the festival. On Saturday, August 15, Alcover will host "Saó. Circ i música", while in Santes Creus, the Quartets de Haydn i Arriaga and the Elizabethan Consort Music will be presented.
On Sunday, August 16, the festival's final day, Alcover will host Olga Pashchenko with Das Jahr by Fanny Mendelssohn. In Santes Creus, Momi Maiga and Adama Cissoko will present music from West Africa, and the concert "Simfonies de Felix Mendelssohn" will mark the end of six days of music and culture.
