After being closed for ten months, Mont-ral Avenue in Alcover will reopen to traffic tomorrow, Thursday, August 20th, at 7 PM. The opening follows a site visit this week with technicians and authorities, although the works are not entirely finished. Drivers are asked to exercise caution and respect traffic signs until the work is fully completed.
The project, which lasted ten months and cost approximately 850,000 euros, experienced delays from its initial schedule due to the discovery of archaeological remains from the old medieval wall. Construction began in October 2025 with a six-month projection.
The total budget for the project is covered by grants from the Department of the Interior of the Generalitat (150,000 euros) and the ImpulsDipta Plan of the Diputació de Tarragona (515,000 euros), with the remaining amount financed by the Alcover Town Council. The adjacent parking lot will remain closed until further notice.
