The Marta Galimany athletics track at the El Fornàs Municipal Sports Center in Valls is nearing completion of a new grandstand, an enhancement that adds to recent and future investments in local sports facilities.

The construction of the new grandstand, which began last March and is expected to conclude in the coming weeks, has been awarded for an amount of 140,334.94 euros. This initiative coincides with the track's twentieth anniversary, a key venue for grassroots sports and athlete training in the region.
The new structure will be 50 meters long and 4.5 meters wide, featuring three levels capable of accommodating approximately 300 people. Additionally, it has been designed with direct access to the sports area from the parking lot, facilitating entry for spectators.
This improvement is part of the ongoing efforts following actions carried out during 2023, which included the comprehensive renovation of the synthetic pavement, enhancement of jumping and throwing areas, and the update of various technical elements. These works were crucial for adapting the facility to the necessary requirements for its homologation in official competitions.
The Valls City Council has expressed its commitment to modernizing municipal sports facilities, with a planned investment of 1.4 million euros during 2026. Future projects include the remodeling of the indoor track at El Vilar, the renovation of the football stadium, and the expansion of the fitness room at the Xavi Tondo pavilion, also located within the El Fornàs Municipal Sports Center.
