The incident occurred in the early afternoon of Tuesday, when residents of the municipality alerted emergency services. According to fire department sources, the alert was received at quarter past four in the afternoon.
Two fire crews were quickly dispatched to the scene. The fire, the causes of which have not been made public, affected two bins at the waste collection point located at the entrance of Vilabella, near the road leading to Valls.
Emergency personnel managed to extinguish the flames without major damage beyond the affected bins and the scare to the residents.
